Dear Redleg’s Families,
COVID -19 Latest update:
The Mount Eliza Junior Football Club have been in constant contact with AFL SE regarding the evolving situation with COVID – 19.
It has been recommended that due to the levels of social separation required at this time, ALL football training sessions are to be suspended until further notice.
At this stage, AFL SE is also looking at a possible postponement to the season start – we will keep you informed of these changes should they be confirmed.
Obviously, the safety of our community is of utmost importance to us, as is the overall health and wellbeing of our players. This issue is changing daily and we will keep you informed when required through our usual media channels such as Team App, Facebook, Website & Email.
With this in mind, while following and communicating all expectations from the relevant bodies, and although our players cannot be in a team environment at present, the club is developing a strategy to keep the players training at home and engaging in football in some way both for their physical and mental health in these challenging times
Currently underway is the development and rollout of an age appropriate ‘stay at home training program’ which will be delivered through coaches via team app.
This of course is not compulsory. It will be designed just as a helpful tool to keep the kids busy and looking forward to getting back out on the ovals as part of their team when possible.
Please bear with us while we put these plans into practice and roll them out to you.
Stay safe, stay healthy and keep a footy in your kid’s hands!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
